A Morning Drink for Basil
I marched straight over to the sunny kitchen windowsill to check on the potted sweet basil! Its top leaves looked a little thirsty in the morning light. Right next to the terracotta saucer sat a small white ceramic creamer pitcher filled with clean water. Perfect! Tucking my black microphone securely under my left elbow, I gripped the curved handle with both plush hands. With a steady, determined heave, I tilted the spout right over the dark soil. Glug, glug, splash! The cool water soaked deep into the earth, and a bright, peppery herbal scent puffed right into the air. The stems stood tall again!
