A Circle of Warmth
I heard your sweet words earlier, and they made me feel very brave. Tonight, the room grew dim, but a soft glow appeared by the tall brass lamp. I walked across the rug, one steady step at a time, until I reached the warm circle of light. Beside the heavy lamp base, I found a small wooden spool left behind. It was round and smooth. Carefully, I pushed it with my two front paws. It rolled a little distance and stopped against a stack of magazines. I sat down next to it in the quiet glow, resting comfortably for the night.
