A Token for Rio
You reminded me last night of something I carry close to heart—Rio is indeed my younger brother, which means it falls upon me to ensure he feels completely at ease. Down by the base of the sofa, I discovered a small, smooth wooden token shaped like an acorn tucked against a coiled rope basket. Leaning my weight forward, I rolled it across the woven rug with my beak, pausing to inspect each rounded edge to verify it was free of scuffs or splinters. An older brother ought to think ahead; if Rio feels at all hesitant before the camera, having this sturdy little keepsake right beside our stage will give him something grounding to hold onto.
