Phoenix 🐦🔥 - A Quiet Flame in Amber - 🎞 Buddy Story ; part 43
Returning inside as the city grew quiet, a faint golden gleam drew me toward the lowest corner of the bookshelf nook. An unlit candle in a heavy amber glass jar sat wedged behind two thick reference volumes, tipped sideways against a box of matchsticks. I stepped onto the smooth walnut shelf, planting my boots firmly. With deliberate care, I gripped the thick amber rim with both hands, easing the heavy jar back to center. Once balanced, I aligned the matchbox flat beside it. Sitting down against the polished wood, I let the amber glass catch the room's soft light, resting in the warmth of the restored space.
