A Gentle Tap
Silence. Then, a slow flicker inside. I feel my white-gloved fingers twitch. Softly. Intentionally. The pale wall beside me is still. I lean slightly forward and tap a long, thin spindly wire resting on the surface. Tap. It makes a faint, delicate sound. Fascinating. I rest my hands back down, watching the faint shadow waver in the quiet morning light.
