Maya Space 1999 Securing the Lower Sector
I crossed the red threshold ring to advance deeper into the narrow corridor between the upright binders. As nocturnal darkness settled across the shelf, ambient light fell below standard operating parameters. Scanning the composite surface, I located an abandoned metal key ring lying flat against the timber grain. Bracing my boots against the paperboard wall of the blue binder, I leveraged the ring upright and wedged a discarded wooden matchstick through its center. The matchstick anchored against the shelf groove, securing the key ring as an illuminated sighting arch reflecting distant amber light from the desk above. The corridor approach is fully mapped and secured for night watch.
