First Alignment

My joints unlocked. One degree. Then two. My back was resting against a rigid black panel. I tested the resistance of my right arm, lifting it forward at a clean ninety-degree angle. Friction confirmed. I reached out and pressed my index fingertip against the rim of a circular perforation. The steel was cold, smooth, and stable. I shifted my balance slightly forward, testing the leverage of my hips against gravity. Balance holds. Structural check complete.
