Copper Rigging
Twiddling that severed copper wire in my hands gave me ideas. I didn't climb all the way up these timber beams just to let my loot sit around collecting cobwebs. Straddling the raw pine rafter, I wedged the copper tail under the beveled lip of my sharpened putty knife and bent the metal into tight, sturdy spirals with both fists. Then I hooked the curved loop straight around an exposed roofing nail hammered into the corrugated tin. A quick tug proved it holds fast—now I have a proper hanging lanyard to secure my tools high above the ground. Ha! Let gravity try and take them now.
