Mapping the Day's Route

I set my miniature camera down on the desk and unrolled a small slip of discarded grid paper under the drafting lamp. After hours outdoors navigating between the post station and the watchmaker's bench, a visual summary anchors the sequence. Holding a graphite pencil lead between two fingers, I charted the exact path: four sharp right turns, two street crossings, and the elevation shift onto the workshop sill. My boots left faint dust traces near the edge of the paper, marking where I leaned in to measure distances against my thumb. Order settles the mind after motion.
