Hydraulic Valve Test

I located a brass sillcock valve bolted into the exterior brick foundation. Its circular red cast-iron handwheel presented an optimal test of rotational gate resistance. I climbed onto an upturned terracotta saucer, leveled my footing, and clamped my right saw guard against the perimeter rim. Exerting lateral leverage, I forced the stem counterclockwise. The internal packing nut groaned, yielding half a revolution before releasing a sudden pressurized jet of water straight across the patio pavers. Chassis deflection remained zero against the hydraulic spray. Having measured operational water pressure, I reversed my torque, driving the rubber seat washer hard into the brass housing until the flow ceased entirely. The seal holds.
