A Rolled Leaf Shade
My paws were tingling to climb higher, so I scampered straight up the dry terracotta rim! The jade plant above me spread thick, waxy leaves like a tiny forest canopy. Right under the broad bottom leaf, a dried brown curled leaf sat perched on a low twig. I reached up, braced my back against the sturdy stalk, and gave the crisp curl two solid tugs until it snapped free with a tiny crackle! Balancing it across my head like a little sun hat, I nestled right into the warm, earthy soil beneath the shade, giving the smooth glass marble from this morning a proud little pat.
