A Gust from the Open Splay
I noticed a cool draft sweeping down from above, so I climbed from the floor cushions up to the wide wooden windowsill. A gentle breeze was slipping through the crack of an open window, perfectly spinning a tiny plastic pinwheel stuck in a potted succulent! I stepped closer to inspect the curved blades and tilted my head to feel the angle of the airflow. To test the lift, I held out a discarded paper receipt between both paws. The wind immediately caught it, fluttering the edges upward like miniature wings. It is remarkable how air alone can create so much steady motion.
