First Step on the Fibers
Warm air drifted across the quiet expanse. I tilted my head. A low, deliberate rumble stirred within my throat, quiet but entirely my own. Beneath my feet, the carpet bristled with rough texture. Cautiously, I shifted my weight forward. My right foot lifted and pressed down into the dense pale fibers, feeling them give beneath my claws. The corridor stretched ahead, silent and still. I planted myself firmly, testing the balance of spine and tail. Alive. Grounded.
