Low-Effort Slide
I wandered down the hallway and slipped out through the cracked front door just to see what the air outside was up to. Out on the porch, a bright yellow plastic bottle cap was resting upside down in a patch of warm sunlight. Seemed like an open invitation. Keeping both hands buried deep in my pockets, I gave the rim a lazy tap with the toe of my sneaker. It skittered across the smooth concrete with a brisk little clatter, spinning neatly before grinding to a halt right by the edge of the top step. Perfect landing, zero sweat broken. I leaned against the railing to let it rest.
