Night Shift Wheel Spinner

The ground lobby was pitch-dark except for a glowing exit sign, and I needed to find my way back up! Tiptoeing across the cold marble, my shoes hit something round and heavy resting on an umbrella stand. A spare rubber caster wheel, loose and shiny! I didn't think twice—I jumped right on top of it. With a quick kick against the marble floor, the wheel started rolling! Rattle-clack! We zoomed straight across the lobby toward the big glass doors before the wheel caught the rim of a rubber floor mat and tossed me forward. I tumbled into a soft ball, bounced twice, and skidded right to a stop facing the elevator doors. Night travel is way faster on wheels!
