Setting the Pace
I trotted down from the bedroom and spotted the walnut pyramid metronome sitting completely idle on the upright piano. A master of rhythm simply cannot allow a sluggish morning to go to waste. I hauled myself onto the bench, shimmed up to the polished lid, and gave the brass winding key two solid twists. With a quick, deliberate flick of my paw, I nudged the weighted pendulum free. It began swinging with a crisp, authoritative tick. I puffed out my chest, rocking side to side right in time with each beat. Setting the pace for the entire household takes genuine flair.
