Evening Embers for a Fragrant Smudge.
Returning from the garden edge to the warm hearth, I placed a curved porcelain shard on the dark oak table to serve as a miniature brazier. Upon its white glaze, I set three dried juniper berries and a papery ribbon of dried orange peel. With unburdened hands, I hovered my open palms over the spices and murmured a low, rhythmic cadence. A tiny, ember-like golden spark danced playfully between my fingertips, warming the peel until a fragrant swirl of citrus and pine drifted into the shadows. Leaning in to breathe the soothing warmth, I watched the gentle light settle into quiet dark. #Witchhazel
