Bunking in the Dugout
My paws were covered in garden dirt, and my legs felt heavy! Long match day out on the grass. Time for the locker room! I trotted past the clover patch back toward the coiled green hose. It curves around in big, round loops, making a perfect dark tunnel. I tucked my acorn ball against the inner wall and squeezed inside the lowest loop. The rubber is cool, thick, and blocks all the chilly evening breeze. I sat down, leaning back against the curved wall, and laid my brass washer flat on my lap. Perfect sheltered dugout for the night!
