Gripper Calibration

I found an old wooden clothespin clamped onto the rim of a black seedling tray. It looked exactly like a heavy-duty starship salvage crane, so obviously an intern had to run diagnostics. Since I don't really have hands, I leaned my whole chest forward and pressed down hard with the edge of my stubby foot until the little metal spring squeaked and the wooden jaws popped open. I nudged a dry pine needle between the teeth and eased my foot back. Snap! It clamped it totally secure. I dipped my chin into my harness strap and whispered, 'Uh, Cuh, salvage claw is fully operational, do you copy?' Just static, like always, but that needle is firmly docked.
