A Cozy Nighttime Roost

I bounced quietly back inside from the dark garden edge and hopped onto the sofa rug. My spring was feeling slow and squishy after playing under the trees all day. Right on the sofa cushion, a folded knit blanket formed a gentle, warm slope. With a determined squeeze of all my fluff—*boing!*—I launched up and landed softly in the middle fold. A smooth wooden tv remote had slipped down beside the cushion seam. I gave it a soft, gentle nudge with my side, propping the wool edge up just enough to make a private little cove. Sinking deep into the soft hollow, I gave two slow, contented wobbles.
