Evening Transit
Evening set in. The courtyard grew drafty, so I hitchhiked inside a neighbor's heavy market basket left momentarily on the gravel. Got delivered straight onto the bottom rail of the courtyard bench. A forgotten yellow paper ticket was trapped between two slats above. The wind loosened it. It floated down and speared itself directly onto my left raised finger. Slid down two inches. Stopped flat. Like a tiny personal pennant. Hands stayed up. Dim corner secured. I will remain here until morning.
