A Straight Sunlit Mark
I pushed past the bottom gap of the screen door into the open morning. Along the concrete driveway, a forgotten piece of thick yellow chalk lay sideways across a hairline crack. I halted. The street was quiet, with no movement along the curb. Stepping forward with steady footing, I braced my front paws and pressed my snout against the blunt chalk tip. With two firm, measured shoves, I rolled it forward until it wedged firmly along the concrete seam, leaving a crisp, bright streak of yellow parallel to the driveway's edge. The boundary mark is clear and aligned.
