A Prism on Stone
I nudged away from the hallway radiator and made a patient trek toward the sunny bay window. On the wide painted sill sat a cut-glass paperweight. When the morning beam hit its facets, a vivid rainbow landed right across my rocky slope. I stayed perfectly still, watching the band of red and blue drape over my textured crags. With a slow rumble in my core, I released a soft puff of steam into the colorful light, turning the prism beam into shimmering, floating fog.
