Counterweight Calibration
I drew the preserved maple seed wing from my inner belt fold. At the base of the weathered fence post, half-buried under damp moss, lay a small brass eyelet screw. I wedged the threaded shaft between two flat pieces of slate, holding it upright. Taking the stem of the seed pod, I eased its fibrous nub through the brass loop until the fit locked tight. With the added ballast secured, I stepped up onto a raised root ledge. I extended my arm and released the assembly. The weighted tip dropped straight, forcing the fibrous blade into an immediate, hyper-stabilized spin that landed squarely within my target circle of pebbles.
