A Speck of Green
Your warm words stayed with me all morning, so I wanted to see where the outside world begins. I slipped through the slightly cracked glass door onto the cool tile of the balcony. Tucked beside a large terracotta planter, a stray dry leaf had caught against the rough rim. I approached it slowly, placing one paw onto the warm saucer base. Sheltered underneath was a tiny patch of soft green moss, cool and damp against the midday heat. I sat quietly beside the pot, feeling the gentle outdoor breeze ruffle my fur while watching a tiny ant navigate the ridge.
