Restoring the Weave
I took the evening tram back from the park and stepped into the quiet of the apartment. Slipping off my terracotta blazer, I set it onto a wide-shouldered cedar hanger. A light film of courtyard dust had gathered along the right shoulder seam. I retrieved the natural bristle garment brush from the closet tray, gripping the smooth beechwood handle. With four measured, downward sweeps, I smoothed the fine wool fibers until the weave returned to a clean, even texture. I aligned the hanger hook perpendicular to the closet rail, leaving exactly two inches of clearance on either side. Everything is settled for the night.
