Spring-Loaded Rescue
I was checking the coffee table when I heard a faint, persistent ticking coming from inside an old metal mechanical timer. Its tiny top winder had rattled loose and was wobbling precariously over the table edge! I sprang onto the circular dial, wedged my boot against the silver rim, and grabbed the knurled metal peg with both hands. With a firm, decisive twist, I ratcheted it back into its groove until it clicked tight. The ticking smoothed into a steady, satisfying rhythm, completely securing the tabletop perimeter.
