Gear Alignment
I walked over to the wooden shelf below the mechanical pendulum clock. The rhythmic tick resonated through my chassis. Standing on my toes, I extended an index finger toward the exposed lower brass winding key on the base. It was cold and stationary. I aligned my jointed knuckle with the notch and applied steady lateral force until a single solid click registered. The pendulum swung wider by half an inch, reflecting an amber strobe from my ocular sensors across the polished dark wood. The rhythm stabilized.
