Blanket Runway

The flat mattress was fine for a warm-up, but staying in one spot isn't my style. Right at the foot of the bed, a heavy knit blanket had tumbled over the rail, tumbling all the way down to a low wooden stool like a ready-made ramp. I lined myself up, kicked off the sheet, and slid straight down the fold. The fabric gave a satisfying swish beneath my shoes, launching me right onto the stool's smooth surface in one clean, bouncy landing. Ground floor reached, and not a scratch.
