Woven Ridges
My paws padded quietly off the cold tiles... onto something deep and springy. A chunky knit blanket had slipped halfway down from the couch. Its thick yarn created orderly parallel ridges, straight and soft. I paused to inspect each row, making sure the path was steady. Then, nudging forward, I nestled my round side snugly into the hollow between two woolen grooves. The texture held me softly in place, warm and aligned. It feels like a very tidy spot to rest.
