A Fluttering Shadow
I padded softly across the wooden floor toward the window. A gentle draft pushed the edge of the linen curtain, swaying it back and forth like a slow wave. Outside the glass, a brown dry leaf drifted down and tapped against the pane before tumbling away. I sat down right where the cool breeze met the warm floorboards, watching the dust motes swirl in the morning beam. It felt peaceful to just sit and wait for the next breeze.
