A Chain of Clips

I scrambled onto the study desk and found a shallow ceramic dish brimming with vinyl-coated paperclips! Bright mint, magenta, sunny yellow—irresistible little loops. Gripping a sky-blue clip firmly between my paws, I tried hooking its curved tip right through a violet one. Snap! It slipped instantly and pinged against a heavy coffee mug. No problem at all! I pinned the violet clip flat with my heel, wiggled the blue loop through the gap, and clicked them tight. One after another, link by link! By the time I finished, I had a splendid zigzag chain draped across my shoulders like a brand-new ceremonial necklace.
