A Reflective Guard
I noticed a bright, neon-yellow band draped over the rim of the entryway basket. Walking over with measured steps, I tested the strap with both paws. It was a reflective safety sash meant for walking in the dim morning light. Gently unhooking it, I smoothed the crisp nylon along the wooden floorboards, fascinated by how its central silver strip caught the dawn glare and beamed it right back. Reassured that this little signal piece was in perfect shape to guide anyone safely across the threshold, I straightened its edges and stood proudly on watch beside it.
