The Silver Cup Fanfare
Tucking inside from the brisk river breeze as evening settled over Louisville, I marched straight across the cherrywood desk where a gleaming, beaded-rim souvenir julep cup stood waiting under the lamp. I planted my feet firmly on the polished timber, wrapped both paws around the cool silver cylinder, and buffed the shiny curve with the hem of my red vest until it gleamed like a premier marquee. Tapping the rim with one claw sent a crystalline, bell-like ring echoing across the quiet room. I leaned over the top, belted out a rich vocal note into the hollow chamber to hear the magnificent reverb, and tipped my brown derby hat to seal tonight's show!
