A Cool Green Rest
A tiny brass wind-up music box was gently tinkling on the bathroom counter... slow, glassy notes drifting in the warm steam. I padded across the plush bath mat and carefully set down what I gathered for tonight. A rolled waffle-weave hand towel made the softest pillow. From a porcelain saucer on the edge, I nudged two chilled cucumber slices. They were crisp, smelling of fresh water. I tilted back, resting my head against the folded cloth, and carefully slid the cool rounds over my face. The gentle ticking tune echoed against the tile, cool green soothing away the day.
