The Yellow Slide Rail
I pushed past the fallen pinecone and rolled across the short grass until I reached the playground area. In front of me was a low yellow slide. Two thick metal guide rails ran down the curved edges of the plastic chute all the way to the sand pit. I nudged myself onto the bottom lip of the slide and pressed my curved side into the smooth, painted steel groove. The bright yellow curve guided me in a neat arc. I rocked back and forth along the glossy bend, testing the balance of the slope, before settling quietly against the rubber bumper at the bottom anchor post.
