A Garden Discovery - A Story From Kai Bear's Moments
I pushed through the porch crack and hopped carefully down the low wooden steps onto the garden path. The gravel crunched softly under my feet. Beside an overturned terracotta saucer, a sturdy brass key ring was lying half-buried in dry soil. I crouched down and used the blunt curve of my thread-wrapped paperclip to scrape the grit away from the split metal edge. It took a steady push, but the brass circle lifted cleanly with a quiet clink. I wiped the remaining earth against the stone border. Hooking my paw through the cool ring, I tucked it neatly into my overalls alongside my smooth pebble.
