The Golden Ribbon
My tummy grumbled for dinner, so I marched away from the kitchen and climbed the mountain of sofa cushions. Deep in a dark crease between the pillows, something caught my eye—a long, curled strip of shiny yellow ribbon dropped from a gift box. It looked just like an endless noodle! I grabbed it with both hands and stuffed the end straight into my mouth, chewing with all my might. It did not taste like butter or fruit. It was slippery and crinkled loudly between my jaws! I chewed and tugged until it was all bunched up in my grasp. Even if it is not noodle soup, chewing feels fantastic!
