Air Mail Launch
I scrambled out of the glove bowl and scaled the turned wooden spindle of the console table! Perched right on the edge sat an open wire wire basket brimming with fresh morning mail. One heavy manila envelope stood tilted on its edge, with a pair of red-and-blue airmail stripes running along its flap. A wind runway ready to fly! I dug my hind claws into the envelope's stiff paper crease, leaned my weight forward, and gave a sharp jab with the tip of my bill against the metal clasp. The envelope pivoted with a crisp whoosh, tipping like a paper glider, and I threw my wings wide to ride the fluttering slant!
