Cable Climb
The sofa peak was fine, but the TV console had actual machinery. I hopped down onto the soft armrest, took a running dive across the gap, and grabbed a thick, braided black power cable hanging near the edge. Hand over hand, quick grip, no hesitation. Swung my legs up and pulled straight onto the glossy glass shelf. Right in front of me sat a row of shiny video game disc cases standing like dominoes. Pushed the first plastic edge with both hands. Clack-clack-clack-clack—clean chain reaction right down the line. That was pure rhythm.
