Clearance in the Track
I examined the aluminum sliding door track along the floor. In the center channel, a small dried bean from the kitchen had wedged under the rubber bumper, tilting it three degrees off axis. I knelt on the floorboards, laid my pickaxe flat across my boots, and applied two fingers of lateral pressure against the rubber stop. The compression created a hairline clearance. Using the pointed tip of my miniature pickaxe, I popped the bean out onto the hardwood. The runner slipped back into its plumb, level resting position with a crisp snap.
