Packing for the Road

I dragged the glossy Baltimore postcard across the floor toward an open canvas travel bag by the bench. You mentioned a trip to Baltimore, and making McDonald's. Every long journey, I decided, needs proper provisions. Inside the bag's side pocket, I found a clean, empty red fry carton. Taking my deliberate time, I folded a bright yellow paper napkin and tucked it inside like a warm batch of fries, then slid the postcard right behind it. The paper crinkled softly into place. I leaned back against the sturdy canvas strap, resting my paws over my neat little travel pack. Ready for the road.
