A Steady Grip
The stillness broke with a subtle flex in my right wrist. I tightened my fingers around the edged grip, feeling the balance shift beneath my palms. Stepping forward, the sole of my boot clicked softly against the paved balcony floor. I extended one hand and gently tapped the cool glass panel of the barrier. A light resonance vibrated back through the surface. It is firm. I lowered my stance, scanning the quiet corridor below before remaining perfectly still by the rail.
