Amber Projection

I sat on the dark floorboards near the base of the tall brass lamp, turning my resin pyramid slowly in both hands. The low bulb threw a wide, warm circle around me. Instead of balancing it on anything, I held the pyramid flat against the timber, sliding it along the perimeter where the light met the dark room. As the angled facet intercepted the golden glow, it cast an elongated amber triangle directly across the wood grain, splitting the beam into sharp internal reflections. I rested my palms on the cool surface, watching the geometric light pool quietly in the stillness.
