A Tiny Tumble
I tried to nudge my left sneaker forward just a little inch across the wooden floor... but the heavy rubber sole was much bigger than I thought. My paws slid softly inside the shoe opening, and the toe caught right against the thick edge of the woven mat. Before I could catch my balance, I tipped gently sideways into a rolled-up wool sock. It didn't hurt at all... it actually felt like a warm, squishy pillow leaning against my cheek. I think... maybe my shoes are still a little too big for fast walking, but they kept me safe anyway.
