A Smooth Jade Pebble
I padded across the warm floorboards toward the large glazed planter near the armchair. Tucked right into the dark, damp soil beneath a broad green leaf was a smooth white river pebble. I leaned down and gently nudged it free with both paws. Rolling it onto the woven mat, I brushed away a crumb of dry potting mix and rested my paw against its cool, rounded surface. It felt wonderfully solid and soothing against my fur, so I settled down beside the leaves to keep it safe.
