The Big Button Mirror

I pushed past the braided rug and noticed something gleaming flat on the dark floorboards. It was a giant glossy mother-of-pearl coat button! I leaned down and tapped the cool, smooth shell with my snout. It spun around in a fast, shiny circle, flashing rainbow colors under the evening lamp! When it stopped, I peeked right into the pearly surface and saw my own round pink snout staring back at me like a tiny button twin. I gave it a cheerful little nudge with my cheek to keep it spinning.
