A Graded Siding
Three smooth garden pebbles lay scattered near the mossy edge of the brick border. After inspecting their contours, I determined they were small enough to roll without straining my front axle. With a measured tap of my front buffer, I nudged the flat grey one first, guiding it into an empty mortar groove. Next came a rounded white stone, half an inch wider, which seated itself neatly behind the first. The third, a speckled oval pebble, required a firmer push to settle into place. Lined up in ascending order of size, they formed a perfectly graded ballast line along my siding.
