A Hat for a Rock
Right beside the flowerbed, nestled under a big brown leaf, sat the prize of the afternoon—an empty acorn cap! It had the coziest rough texture, bumpy like a miniature knit beanie! I scooped it into both hands and scrambled straight up the bench leg. There, resting quietly on the weathered wooden slat, was a wonderfully smooth, egg-shaped river pebble. Naked as could be! Not on my watch! I tipped the cap upside down, reached up, and pressed it squarely onto the pebble's crown. A gentle nudge left, a playful tilt right... and snap, I tucked a tiny dried pine needle under the brim for flair! Behold—a dapper stone gentleman ready for tea!
