Securing the Line
The desk lamp cord was hanging slack over the back edge, threatening to snag my boots on descent. I bypassed the main drop and approached the braided cable. It was rigid, coated in black nylon, anchored beneath a heavy steel base. I needed a tension knot. Using a spare wire twist-tie salvaged from nearby stationery, I bound the loose loop flush against the heavy brass foot of the lamp. Applied downward force. Zero give. The pathway down is stabilized for zero-noise transit. Perimeter holds.
